News from Tennessee Environmental Council

The Tennessee Environmental Council reports:

Council Tree Planting Project
Spring Hill – January 16 – 9am-1pm

Did you know that silt and sediment from erosion accounts for 80% of water pollution in our Tennessee streams?  If you are looking for an opportunity to make a real difference for the health of our waterways, please join us on Saturday.  We be planting trees which stabilize the soil and help improve water quality.

Meet us at Jerry Erwin Park at 9 am.  Please bring gloves, wear work boots and bring water to drink. We will meet at the gate at 9 am and work until about 1 pm.

We will also be giving trees away as part of the Tennessee Tree Project.  The Council requests a $3/tree donation for seedlings and a $15/tree donation for the 2-3 year old trees to help continue this project.  Because of the generosity of CareAll, anyone who donates for 3 tree ($9) get two extra – 5 trees for the price of 3!

Directions:
From Nashville – take I65 to Saturn parkway, take Saturn parkway to Kedron road exit, go right – Jerry Erwin Park is on the left about 1/2 mile down from the exit.
